Mikey C. and Craig Hildy create a truly unique songwriting duo. Originally from the PPC, they got together over the internet to form The Strumrock Project.
In 1994, during times of manic creativity , the story of Craig Hildebrand (ASCAP) writing in journals and contorting those words into songs begins. When traditional therapy failed him, he turned to songwriting bringing stories of misguided paths and lore derived from what could be considered a life on the wrong side of the tracks. Originally a percussionist (drumming for ’Crew Serve’ in the 90’s) Craig's experience in the rhythm section laid the groundwork for abilities that would later come to fruition when picking up an acoustic guitar and writing songs. After short spells in several bands, he met his artistic match in lead guitarist Mikey Crowell.
Channeling his teen angst into music, it soon became apparent to others that Mikey had a special gift. Discovered wandering the shores of Lake Michigan like a vagabond prodigy, he was quickly recruited into the local music scene. It was then that he was to meet his true love, the electric guitar. For years thereafter he played in cover bands, scorching the scene, but always feeling as if he wanted more. A turn of fortune’s wheel brought him into contact with Craig and a musical collusion was born.
Mikey’s technical expertise and command of his instrument, combined with Craig’s vision and lyrical gifts have meshed to create a truly unique and powerful songwriting duo, the Paul Palson Collusion. Now technology brings them back together again as The Strumrock Project.
